Year of the snake

Today I would like to introduce you to my new Year of the Snake line of jewelry.

They're completely handmade from polymer clay and are my first attempt at using clay. Well, the earrwires and the chains aren't handmade from polymer clay, obviously, but you get the idea. They are only shown in a few colors, but I'll be happy make specific colors. (Or at least try to.)

I really like Polymer clay. Even though I'm too nervous to try anything daring, like mixing different colors. (Yet.) It's pretty easy to work with, and pretty durable once baked. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped these snakes when I was putting loops on them.

I did a lot snakes in red Because red is a lucky color to the Chinese and especially lucky for Chinese New Year.

Visit Bats Bizarre at www.Etsy.com/shop/BatsBizarre to view more of the line or place your order.

Satsumas

No pictures today, my broadband is not acting right when it comes to uploading images. I haven't even been able to post my new jewelry line.
But I had to share some advice about what to do with excess citrus. Yesterday I started gathering satsumas to make into marmalade; only to find that I had run out of jar lids. So I went ahead and cut up and deseeded the satsumas and lemons and put them into a freezer bag which I then labeled and popped in the freezer for later.
I'm still working on the recipe, but I will post it as soon as I perfect it. Mom's got debs on some for fruit cake, it's way better than candied citrus. And no preservatives!

+++ 2017+++ I didn't add enough sugar, the preserves were terrible. And the tree died so I will not be able to post a recipe.+++

Chinese New Year

February 10th is Chinese New Year, the beginning of the year of the snake. Wearing or displaying snakes during 2013 brings good luck. Don't have any? Neither did I. But don't worry I've got you covered.

Available in 12" (30.48cm) and 21" (53.34cm) and a verity of colors these hand knitted acrylic snakes can be put anywhere you might need a little luck. Best of all you won't have a bunch of shards to clean up if it gets knocked it off your mantel.

Place one by your door to welcome prosperity, put one on your dresser to draw in luck while you sleep, carry one in your pocket, tie one on your purse, wear one around your wrist or neck, use one to dress up a pony tail, or put one in the button holes of your coat, there's no wrong why to use it.

Maybe if you put one on your rearview you'll get better parking places.

Small snakes are $5. Large are $8. Custom colors and sizes are available although overly large snakes will cost extra. Buy your own at https://www.etsy.com/listing/121087543/chinese-new-year-snakes (12"(30.48cm)) or  https://www.etsy.com/listing/121088383/chinese-new-year-snakes-large  (21"(53.34cm)) and tell me how you use them.
